First Impression:
When I first opened the package, I was hoping to receive the same model of the PS3 that I have been familiar with. Instead a different design was put together in this deal. Instead of a smooth body, this PlayStation has lines pattern cutting through the middle, its purpose? the new DVD loader. The DVD no longer slides in like the old model, instead a cover will slide open showing you a slot to insert disc. I do not like how this particular model looks. It is, however, compact - which allows me to put this console on my small table.
Test Drive:
Sadly I do not have an old model where I can run a test next to each other. That being said, the console works. There are, however, some concerns that I like to point out when you are purchasing this particular console model:
- Included AV cable outputs a very low quality video (Invest on an HDMI cable)
- When playing, the DVD drive runs very loud.
- The controller felt light and cheaply build
Another concern that I would like to point out is the lag present during games, followed by the annoyingly loud DVD drive (It creates a high pitch noise). Other then that, the consol
e is great! With a built in WiFi, there are less cables; You can access Netflix with this console and watch DVD, Blu-Ray and is even 3D ready (given your television permits).

Conclusion:
On top of my complaints in the test drive section, I need to remind you guys that even though this game comes with a bundle of 4 other games, these 4 games are not in a case. They come in a cardboard envelope. Cheap build quality, horrible packaging makes it too obvious that this model was to appeal to the Black Friday fever. Is it worth it? If you can get it less then $199.99 then yes! it can serve not only as your console but also as your media player.
