Samsung Is Doing Everything To Extinct BlackBerry

It is very clear by now that Blackberry is seriously grasping for breath in the smartphone market. All efforts to resuscitate the dying company is not yielding any significant fruit yet.

BlackBerry have been the device of choice for the US FBI agent for a while now.  One could say that its still one of the reasons Blackberry is still relevant in a way.  However, it seems that privilege is about to end soon with the steps that Samsung is taking with the FBI.

It had been reported that Samsung want to conclude a deal that would make the FBI with over 30,000 employees to ditch Blackberry devices for Samsung devices.

If this should happen, Blackberry would be in deep mess.

Once the FBI sees Samsung devices as the device of choice, it would mean bigger sales for the Korean company. All other agencies,  Navy, Airforce etc will follow sooth. Security agencies all over the world would believe that Samsung devices have all the security that is needed and that would further put Blackberry in a tight spot.

Blackberry being a company that is dying already, it would be like the final straw for them.  It is therefore very pertinent that Blackberry try everything in its power to maintain the relationship it has with the FBI and other security agencies that have selected their devices for use.

If Samsung closes this deal with the FBI, Blackberry is one step to extinction.

Samsung HTC Mum on Any Interest in Windows Phone Post Nokia

Despite announcing plans to buy Nokia’s phone business, Microsoft still has hopes other phone makers will want to build Windows Phones.
HTC8Phones
As for whether the handset makers have any interest, we’ll have to wait and see.
Nokia already dominates the Windows Phone landscape, accounting for nearly eight in 10 Windows Phone sales. HTC and Samsung are the next two biggest players, though at various times, Huawei, Dell, LG and ZTE have also made Windows Phones.

Both HTC and Samsung were rendered nearly speechless after Microsoft announced its deal late Monday.
A Samsung representative said that, regarding the Microsoft-Nokia acquisition, its official statement is, “Decline to comment.”

That was essentially the same response that HTC gave AllThingsD on Tuesday.
“We are assessing the situation and have no comment at this time,” an HTC representative said.
Contrast this with what HTC CEO Peter Chou had to...Read the rest of this post --->

Mark your calendars Announcing Build 2014

The following is a post from Steve Guggenheimer, Microsofts Corporate Vice President and Chief Evangelist, Developer & Platform Evangelism.

It seems like we were just gathered in San Francisco for Build 2013 and yet a lot has happened since that time. Windows 8.1 is in the hands of consumers and there is a great selection of new devices at all sizes and price points coming in time for the holidays. Last month, we released Xbox One and sold more than two million units in the first 18 days. And we continue to see the addition of great new apps, with differentiated user experiences, coming to the platform from top names such as Flipboard, Instagram, Waze, Vine and Mint alongside thousands of local apps growing every day.

The momentum just keeps building and that is why I’m so excited to announce our next developer conference, Build 2014, which will take place April 2 to April 4 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Save the date and mark your calendar for registration, which opens at 9 a.m. PT on Jan. 14 at www.buildwindows.com.

As always, Build is a time to bring developers together to talk about our latest products, platform advances, tools and offerings, all of which come together to create unmatched apps and scenarios. With Windows, developers can create new experiences to reach hundreds of millions of devices on peoples’ desks, in their homes, in their pockets and in their living rooms. At this year’s event, we’ll talk about what’s next for Windows, Windows Phone, Windows Azure, Windows Server, Visual Studio and much more.

So pay a visit to www.buildwindows.com, plan to register on Jan. 14, and join us for three days of immersive presentations delivered by the engineers behind our devices and services. Be among the first to see what’s next from Microsoft. We’ll look forward to seeing you at Moscone!

Asphalt 8 Updates with KitKat’s new Immersive Mode Feature

DSC00824

One of the features in Android 4.4 – KitKat, one of my favorites at that, is called immersive mode. Where it allows the app to take over the entire display, hiding the status bar and navigation bar. Now granted, this is really only a big deal on devices that have on-screen navigation buttons like the Nexus 4, 5, 7, 10, and the Moto X. However I still find it to be a awesome feature. Many Google apps already support it, and so do a few third-party apps.

Today, Gameloft updated one of their more popular games to support immersive mode. That would be Asphalt 8. Which is going to give you an even better experience when playing Asphalt 8, not that it wasn’t already a great looking game. Additionally, Gameloft is planning to update many of their other popular titles between now and the end of February. Which include Blitz Brigade, Dungeon Hunter 4, Gangstar 4, GT Racing 2, Heroes of O&C, Order & Chaos, Order & Choas Duels, Six Guns and Total Conquest.

It also wouldn’t be a surprise to see Gameloft add the immersive mode feature to more games down the road. But so far these are the games they have it planned for in the next few weeks. Now obviously, this update doesn’t mean much to you if your device isn’t running Android 4.4 – KitKat already. As this is a KitKat feature. Which mean only a handful of devices will be able to support this update. That includes the Nexus 4, 5, 7, and 10. As well as the Google Play Edition devices such as the HTC One, Galaxy S4, LG G Pad 8.3, Xperia Z Ultra, and the Moto G. But don’t forget the International versions of the HTC One and the Galaxy Note 3 also have KitKat, with the Note 3 just starting to get it in a few countries last week.

How many of you are excited for immersive mode in Asphalt 8 and more games? Let us know in the comments below.

Dell U3011 UltraSharp 30 inch monitor review

After reviewing the Dell U2412M 24-inch monitor a few weeks back, Dell threw me another premium monitor. The Dell U3011 is a new 30-inch model replacing the U3008WFP. The IPS panel is factory calibrated to sRGB and AdobeRGB modes, so it saves the hassle of re-calibrating.

30-inch computer monitors are uncommon. Not many manufacturers make them because they are not as popular, and certainly not cheap. Yet Dell UltraSharp monitors are sought after by photographers, graphic designers, and anyone who requires accurate colour rendition on a huge brilliant display. The reason behind the awesomeness of this monitor:

1. the IPS (in-plane switching) LCD panel that offers minimal colour deviation when you view the screen at varying angles.
2. 117% colour gamut (range of colours), compatible with 100% sRGB and 99% AdobeRGB standards.
3. Capable of displaying 1 billion colours at 1,000:1 (typical) dynamic contrast ratio, 7ms (typical) response time.

If you are wondering why one would need a 30-inch monitor, heres a list for your consideration:

1. 2560x1600 high resolution display
If your current monitor displays only 1280x800, then the Dell U3011 is 4 times of that resolution! You can tile 4 windows on the monitor and work on all 4 windows at the same time. How useful is that? How about a web browser, a photo editor, a word editor, and a file manager, all in full view.

I could never have imagined this is attainable, and very usable...

If you often work on spreadsheets, you would certainly appreciate a high resolution monitor, which lets you see a lot more rows and columns. For photography work, you see more of the image in 1:1 pixel compared to even a typical full HD 1920x1080 monitor. Less zooming around means you get your job done with less mousing around.

This is how an Excel spreadsheet looks like on a 2560x1600 screen. (click for full image)

For multi-tasking movie buffs, you can open a full-HD size window and watch your movies while having ample space to keep a few other windows visible from view, for instance, live monitoring desktop gadgets.

Watching the Avatar movie in full HD while blogging, only possible with Dell U3011.

2. 30-inch screen size
Who doesnt like large screens? Every modern living room has a huge TV, and people tend to buy the biggest size that they can afford. But would a huge monitor be really necessary for a computer user since one usually sits close to a monitor as compared to watching TV?

My computer screen is about 2 feet away from my eyes, and a 30-inch screen is just nice to fill up my field of vision. Having a single high-res screen can be better than multiple screens, because in a multiple-screen setup, you need to turn your heads frequently to look at both monitors. And at 30-inch, the resolution is just nice, not too small unlike laptops with full-HD resolution.

Size in perspective: Dell U3011 (right), 24" Philips 240B (left), and 12.1" Thinkpad X61.

3. One monitor, multiple connectivity.
The Dell U3011 has the following list of connectivity options, which seems to many to be true.

·         2 Digital Visual Interface connectors (DVI-D) with HDCP
·         2 HDMI connectors
·         1 DisplayPort (DP)
·         1 Video Graphics Array (VGA)
·         5.1 audio output
·         Component Video
·         4 USB 2.0 downstream ports
·         7-in-1 Media reader

So technically you can connect 6 devices to this mammoth monitor and easily toggle among them using the capacitive menu buttons, which is so cool because you activate the buttons by lightly touching, unlike most other monitors which requires you to click on the small rigid poorly-labelled buttons.

Bring your finger near to the buttons and the bottom one lights up.
Select it and the on-screen menu and all other buttons light up.

Use it not just as a computer monitor, but also as a TV to plug your DVD player, your game console, hook it to your 5.1 sound system. You can slot in your SD cards for file transfer, or easily connect your USB devices to this monitor.

Need? Or Want?
For many years, I have evolved my monitor usage behaviour, from a 15-inch monitor, to a 17-inch, then a 19-inch, then I bought a 22-inch and started a 2-monitor extended display setup, then I sold off the 19-inch for the current full-HD 24-inch. I was contemplating getting rid of the 22-inch (WSXGA+, 1680x1050) for the Dell U2412M 24-inch, but now that I reviewed this 30-incher, it appears that I might revert back to a single-display, because there are so much more pixels to offer in a single display that is easier to manage than multiple displays. Of course, theres no stopping me to buy this and hook it with my existing monitor to increase my desktop size, yet again. There is no end, is there?

Before you invest in this beauty, make sure your display card supports the extra-high WQXGA resolution. The standard HDMI cable only supports up to full-HD resolution of 1920x1080, and analogue display (VGA) connection also cannot reach the full native resolution. In my test, only the DVI Dual-link cable delivers the full 2560x1600 resolution.

More Nexus 5 rumors circulate as document from FCC leaks out

It all started with that picture taken at the time that the Kit Kat Android statue was unveiled at the Googleplex. The picture, frozen for all time, shows a mystery man snapping a picture using the camera on an unknown smartphone that was sporting the new NEXUS style logo on the back. Right away, the buzz started getting loud that the phone in the picture was the Google Nexus 5.

And when the FCC received a visit from the LG D820, the buzz got even louder. Equipped with a 4.96 inch screen, the phone had connectivity for AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. Kit Kat was believed to be under the hood. But a new theory seemed to debunk this. A database leaked by evleaks showed a CDMA LG G2 with the model number of LG D821. Since the database mentioned the D821 and not the D820, the thought was that the latter was another CDMA LG G2 variant based on the similarity of the model numbers.

But on Thursday morning, FCC documentation for the LG D821 revealed it to be a GSM version of the LG G2 with LTE support for Band 5.And more importantly, the dimensions turned out to be real close to the LG G2 but not close at all to the LG D820. And that means that the LG D820 is NOT an LG G2 and very well could be the Google Nexus 5. Sweet dreams for Android fans.(PhoneArena)

How to convert Normal SIM card into Micro Nano Sim Easy Steps

Today we talking about very useful information about convert normal SIM to Micro sim in Three Easy Steps.

Here is a very nice trick and it definitely works to convert at a time when our normal SIM into a micro SIM .

Cutting our SIM to make it microSIM

1. The first thing to do is get a good cutting tool, either scissors or a cutter. It is important to make clean cuts to avoid problems later. We also need a rule (if a bit heavy use cutter for card not move while cut).

2. Then we have a workforce of us a microSIM or its action on normal SIM . We will have two options:

a. Measure with the ruler to make the cuts (this is what I have used and works perfectly), marking with a permanent marker and fine according to the measurements that you find in the image below .Keep in mind that not all SIM are identical, but what always equals the size of the microSIM, so you simply adaptáis card that size. There are even models that are short of the rectangle occupied by the circuit to make the conversion.

b. Print the template in 1:1 size. Here you have a link to download the template, which also carries the cutting instructions.

3. then we just have to try to insert the card, if we do not try to go a little more cut and ready . In just 10 minutes you will have your SIM list.

BlackBerrys ripe for the picking as Apple falls far from the tree

Week in Tech And next-gen transport gets Hyperlooped

BlackBerrys ripe for the picking as Apple falls far from the tree

If we had to sum up this week in sounds, wed choose two. One would be a sad clown playing an out of tune piano being thrown down a stairwell, and the other would be a high-pitched whooshing sound.
The sad clown noise comes from Blackberry, the once-proud smartphone giant thats just put itself up for sale.
The official phrase is that a special committee will "explore strategic alternatives to enhance value and increase scale", but realistically Blackberry is standing on the high street offering three pairs of socks for a pound.
How did it come to this? Gareth Beavis knows: "If you dont move with the times, youll be overtaken and consumed by technological vultures feasting on the juciest bits of your once-cutting-edge carcass." We know, we know, thats pretty dark. You should have seen the stories he wrote in primary school.
Its easy to blame the iPhone for Blackberrys demise, but the problems go back further: the 2002 Quark combined calling and email, and while it was "the future" it was "also the companys downfall".
"The mantra if it aint broke, dont fix it must have been emblazoned on the walls," says Beavis: RIM (as it was then known) "eschewed 3G, took ages to add cameras or Wi-Fi to its devices and even managed to mess up the touchscreen when it finally tried to rival the iPhone with the Blackberry Storm."
Blackberry is a company packed with talent, but all too often its timing sucks.

Going steady or falling apart?

Its not that Apple is in trouble, its that the world is impatient
Guess who else is supposedly in trouble? Thats right: Apple, because nothing says "disaster" like being the most valuable technology company in the world. But there is trouble in paradise.
The board is getting jittery and Oracle CEO Larry Ellison reckons history will repeat - "we saw Apple with Steve Jobs, we saw Apple without Steve Jobs," he says. But billionaire investor Carl Icahn says Apple is "extremely undervalued."
Who to believe? Kate Solomon agrees that "Jobs is a tough act to follow," but Tim Cook should ignore calls to do something fast. "No," Solomon counsels. "Do something great." Its not that Apple is in trouble, its that the world is impatient.
"Like you, I want magic," Solomon says. "At any tech launch, Im hoping for something that will cause my eyes to widen and an involuntary "Oh wow!" to slip out. I want it to do something useful, I want it to work perfectly, I want it to look gorgeous and I want it to be awesome. And hey, thats going to take a bit of time."
Something else thats taken a bit of time is Windows 8.1, but its nearly done now and youll be able to get it in October. The cunningly named Windows 8.1 will hit Windows Update in October, and Microsoft hopes itll boost interest in Windows 8 systems.
We hope so too: Windows 8 hasnt been the stimulus the PC industry hoped for, and news stories about Windows RT increasingly sound like broadcasts from the deck of the Titanic.

Down the tubes

Sony Patents ‘PlayStation Remix’ Aiming To Add New Challenges To Emulated Classic Games

sony-gaikai-ps3-cloud-streaming2

A new neat feature is doing rounds in gaming circles; we are speaking about the ability of streaming emulated classics to video game consoles from the cloud. This ability is definitely neat, but wouldn’t it be awesome if someone could add new challenges, levels and abilities not present in the originals? This is the idea which has recently been revealed to have been patented by Sony in a recent filing.

In the patent filing, Sony claims that “Finding new ways to play preexisting video games can increase the longevity of older games. Instead of replaying the same level or completing the same missions repeatedly, gamers often desire new challenges when replaying legacy games.” To address this need, game designers have begun to produce mini games, which help to increase the longevity of the legacy games, by giving gamers the option to complete new objectives and overcome new challenges that do not exist in the originals. Also since the mini game is derived from a legacy game, gamers are familiar with the characters and basic components of the game.

This is an exciting opportunity for game designers to ride on the popularity of mini games. Since a mini-game does not begin at any traditional game start points, but may be placed, let’s say, right before a boss fight. This gives designers the option to provide new challenges such as limit the number of lives or they may choose to change existing game parameters etc. This would help make legacy games more challenging and fun.

The idea behind this patent is that instead of packing several packages of game files in one bunch (as is standard today), Sony would stream small segments of the game from their servers using Gaikai’s technology. This would allow creation of new goals within legacy games.

IGameResponsibly had first discovered this patent which was filed some time back in June 2012, simultaneously to Sony’s purchase of streaming game technology company Gaikai. The patent “Suspending State of Cloud-Based Legacy Applications” patent filing describes a means to provide fresh content to pre-existing classic games without the need to rebuild them completely. IGameResponsibly has termed this patent ‘PlayStation Remix’; however we have not been able to find any corroboration of this name in the original patent filing.

KH25

Before you get too excited, we would like to let you know that this is merely a patent filing and not all patents come to fruition in the form of a finished product. On our part, we would definitely like to keep our hopes alive, who knows we would finally be able to enjoy Mario with the same zest we had in our childhood. After-all Gaikai could bring PS3 games to Android.

We would like to hear which legacy games you would like to see with the ‘PlayStation Remix’ if it ever comes out. Our comments section is open for you.

Apple China Mobile launch could start costly subsidy war for iPhone sales

Apple Inc is finally launching its iPhone on China Mobile Ltds vast network on Friday, opening the door to the worlds largest carriers 763 million subscribers and giving its China sales a short-term jolt.

Underlining how much the launch means for Apple, Chief Executive Tim Cook was on hand as the carriers flagship store opened in Beijings financial district. With China Mobile Chairman Xi Guohua alongside, Cook gifted signed iPhones to a handful of customers and posed for pictures.

The long-awaited deal could trigger a limited turnaround for Apple, whose fortunes have wavered in China in the face of stiff competition from market-leader Samsung Electronics Co Ltd and up-and-coming local rival Xiaomi Tech.

Samsung had a 21 percent share of Chinas smartphone market in the third quarter of 2013, with Apple trailing in fifth place with just 6 percent, according to research firm Canalys.

But the arrival of the iPhone could be a double-edged sword for China Mobile, with some analysts predicting a costly subsidy war as rival carriers compete to lure customers.

"I dont see a price war coming where Apple is engaged in the war, but I do think youre going to see a subsidy war coming," said Michael Clendenin, managing director of Shanghai-based RedTech Advisors.

"China Mobile, if theyre not making their targets on sales for these phones, theyre going to increase the subsidies... Its like airlines: the other guys will fall like dominoes, so China Unicom will do it and China Telecom will do it."

China Mobiles iPhone sales are expected to reach 12 million in its 2014 fiscal year, but its subsidies will leap 57 percent to 42.4 billion yuan, up from 27 billion yuan in its fiscal year 2013, wrote Cynthia Meng, a Jefferies analyst, in a December note.

For the basic 16GB iPhone 5s, with no subscriber contract, China Mobile is charging 5,288 yuan, the same as on Apples China website. The carrier is charging 4,488 yuan for a basic iPhone 5c, again the same price as on Apples China site.

China Unicom Hong Kong Ltd and China Telecom Corp Ltd slashed their iPhone prices by as much as 1,288 yuan following the announcement that a deal had been struck between Apple and China Mobile. The pair have also offered a range of cut-price deals on contracts.

These offerings and the launch of the iPhone on China Mobile come in the weeks running up to Chinese New Year, when people traditionally exchange gifts of money in red envelopes and retail sales jump.

SALES CANNIBALISATION

After taking years to hammer out a deal with China Mobile, Apples sales in China should get a short, sharp boost as subscribers make the most of the double-whammy of the iPhones arrival and the rollout of high-speed 4G mobile networks.

Reservations for iPhones had already hit 1.3 million on Wednesday, according to a China Mobile spokeswoman, although Reuters checks showed that there were multiple registrations using fake ID numbers.

But the rewards are expected to be short-lived for the Cupertino, California-based company, which faces a deeper problem in China of having fallen out of favour with consumers who are increasingly opting for domestic offerings.

Another issue is the thriving grey market for iPhones, where users can buy handsets typically smuggled from Hong Kong and then sign up for a China Mobile contract. China Mobile already has 45 million iPhone users in China, according to a company spokeswoman.

"You need to consider the cannibalisation for sales to China Unicom, China Telecom and the grey market, so even though theres an addition from China Mobile it will also impact sales from other channels as well," said CK Lu, a Taiwan-based analyst with Gartner.

"If we really want to see the expansion of sales well have to wait for the next version of the iPhone. If China Mobile gets first launch and their subsidies are attractive people will probably rush to the iPhone that China Mobile can provide."

Final Fantasy VI Comes To The Play Store Another Epic Journey Lies Ahead

Final-Fantasy-VI-featured-640x250

Square Enix is known for some of the most epic game sagas ever introduced into video games. The most well known of those franchises is undoubtedly Final Fantasy. Square Enix has been on a roll over the last year and a half or so, with releasing each title in the major Final Fantasy saga, leading up to Final Fantasy VI which has just launched in the Play Store as of this morning. The next epic story in one of the most compelling series of games is finally available for download, but just like the rest of the games in the series before it, it comes at a hefty price. $15.99 will allow you to obtain this masterpiece, which many fans hail as their favorite in the series, even when compared to Final Fantasy VII. Is the price worth it? To some, yes. To me even, absolutely. To most though, it might be a bit steep. Square Enix is definitely targeting core fans of the series and hardcore RPG fans here, as they have been with just about every AAA title drop they have ever released for Android.

Final Fantasy VI offers up one of if not the best storylines of all the games, where after a thousand years since the disappearance of magic, the world has been reborn and remade by humankind, into a vast Steampunk era filled with machines and gunpowder. In this sprawling technological world, only one person possesses the lost power of magic, a young girl named Terra. Terra is the main character which you control, and you must escape from the clutches of the Evil Empire who has kept you locked up for years in an attempt to harness your magical power and use it for themselves.

In Final Fantasy VI, you’ll encounter many heroes, many enemies, and touch countless lives who all play a tiny role in the inevitable outcome of this harrowing tale of magic, crystals, and light VS. dark. Experience enhanced and improved graphics of the original that have been painstakingly recreated, with all graphics design being supervised by Kazuko Shibuya, who has been involved and worked on the graphics design of the Final Fantasy games since the beginning, and personally worked on the main characters in this recreation for mobile. If you’re ready to dive deep into the epic fantasy of the sixth installment in this wonderful game series, head over to the Play Store to pick up the game.

Lenovo IdeaCentre K900 with 5 5 inch display and Intel CPU

The Lenovo IdeaCentre K900 phone is a 5.5 inch full HD smartphone with a 2GHz dual-core Intel x86 processor. In our first test Smartlet makes a pretty good impression.

Lenovo has unveiled at CES a pretty interesting smartphone. The Lenovo IdeaCentre K900 phone comes with the new Intel 2GHz Dual Core Atom processor, which is optimized for smartphones. But the Lenovo is not only because of the x86 CPU so interesting, but also because of the 5.5 inch display. This has filled a Full HD resolution that is 5.5 inches so of 1920 × 1080 pixels.

Unfortunately, would not or could not reveal all the details for Lenovo Idea Phone K900. But it is interesting in any case the camera, because this dissolves with 13 megapixels and has two flashing lights. In fact, these are the same camera, which can also be found in the Sony Xperia Z.

The Lenovo IdeaCentre K900 Phone will be released within the next few months in China. A launch in Europe or the U.S., unfortunately, is not initially provided. Thats pretty bad, because the Lenovo IdeaCentre K900 phone has made a pretty good impression. Especially the aluminum housing is very high quality and leaves little to be desired. This was however told that we try not pre-installed on the Idea Phone K900 Android 4.2 Jelly Bean could.

Man Wearing Google Glass Claims Movie Theater Called FBI To Arrest Him For Piracy

glassFBIbg If getting a ticket for wearing Google Glass will land you in the headlines for a good while, how about when the FBI comes to arrest you in a movie theater for the same device? Yup, headlines aplenty.

That’s the claim made over on Gadgeteer, where a reader’s story of not only getting booted from a movie for wearing Google Glass but encountering the FBI in the process is lighting up the Internet.

The author of the story says he’s been wearing Google Glass all the time since getting prescription lenses for the glasses. Over the weekend he went to a mall in Ohio to see Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, and at first it was like every other time he’d gone to the movies with the Google Glass on.

“It is the theater we go to every week, so it has probably been the third time I’ve been there wearing Google Glass, and the AMC employees (guy tearing tickets at the entrance, girl at the concession stand) have asked me about Glass in the past and I have told them how awesome Glass is with every occasion,” he writes.

We know what you’re probably thinking — of course it might seem suspect that someone is wearing a device that has a camera in it at a movie theater. Piracy is a real thing, after all. But he says he always turns the device off, while keeping the actual glasses on because they have his prescription lenses in them.

The trouble started after half an hour, when he says a man approached his seat, showed a badge and pulled the Google Glass off his face. He was told to go outside with the man immediately.

“Since I didn’t catch his name in the dark of the theater, I asked to see his badge again and I asked what was the problem and I asked for my Glass back,” the wearer writes in his account of the apparent FBI agents. “The response was ‘you see all these cops you know we are legit, we are with the “federal service” and you have been caught illegally taping the movie.’ “

He claims he tried to explain the situation and that he wasn’t taping anything whatsoever, but says that instead he was searched and more of his property was taken away. He writes that he was then brought to a room for a “voluntary interview” but that he basically had to cooperate or “bad things” might happen to him.

“I kept telling them that Glass has a USB port and not only did I allow them, I actually insist they connect to it and see that there was nothing but personal photos with my wife and my dog on it,” he claims. “I also insisted they look at my phone too and clear things out, but they wanted to talk first. They wanted to know who I am, where I live, where I work, how much I’m making, how many computers I have at home, why am I recording the movie, who am I going to give the recording to, why don’t I just give up the guy up the chain, ’cause they are not interested in me. Over and over and over again.”

Despite his insistence that he wasn’t recording anything and that the Glass was off, he says they insisted it had been seen on. He writes that he tried to show them the light that comes on if the Glass is activated, but was told he couldn’t touch the device in case he tried to erase any evidence.

After a long time spent trying to explain things, he claims that someone finally came in with a USB cable and connected the Glass to the computer, downloaded everything from it and started going through the photos.

“Then they went through my phone, and 5 minutes later they concluded I had done nothing wrong,” he writes.

At the end of the ordeal, he asked the agents why they couldn’t have taken those five minutes at the beginning of the whole thing, but they just left the room. He adds that someone else (from the “Movie Association” which could perhaps be the Motion Picture Association of America) gave him two free movie passes to make up for the interrogation.

When he asked why he wasn’t told simply not to wear the Google Glass if they were worried about piracy and thus, avoid the rigmarole, he says the man told him he was called by AMC, he contacted the FBI and here are two more passes for the trouble.

“I would have been fine with ‘I’m sorry this happened, please accept our apologies,’ ” he writes. “Four free passes just infuriated me.”

After all of that, the man says he should probably sue someone over his experience, but that he doesn’t have the time or energy to deal with it all. Instead, he wrote up his account so that others learn from his experience.

“I guess until people get more familiar with Google Glass and understand what they are, one should not wear them to the movies,” he muses. “I wish they would have said something before I went to the movies, but it may be my mistake for assuming that if I went and watched movies two times wearing Glass with no incident the third time there won’t be any incident either.”

We reached out to AMC Theatres to see if there’s a comment on this report, and will let you know if we hear anything back.

Review Sony Playstation 3 250 GB GO CECH 4001B

I am going to be honest and tell you that I fell for the Black Friday marketing ploy. Sony was having a sale for their new Playstation 3 (PS3) 250GB with 4 bonus games (Uncharted, Uncharted 2, Infamous, Infamous 2). This particular model has a different design, it functions pretty well, compact and 3D ready. With the low price they were having during the Black Friday sale, why not?

First Impression:
When I first opened the package, I was hoping to receive the same model of the PS3 that I have been familiar with. Instead a different design was put together in this deal. Instead of a smooth body, this PlayStation has lines pattern cutting through the middle, its purpose? the new DVD loader. The DVD no longer slides in like the old model, instead a cover will slide open showing you a slot to insert disc. I do not like how this particular model looks. It is, however, compact - which allows me to put this console on my small table.

Test Drive:
Sadly I do not have an old model where I can run a test next to each other. That being said, the console works. There are, however, some concerns that I like to point out when you are purchasing this particular console model:
  1. Included AV cable outputs a very low quality video (Invest on an HDMI cable)
  2. When playing, the DVD drive runs very loud.
  3. The controller felt light and cheaply build
Another concern that I would like to point out is the lag present during games, followed by the annoyingly loud DVD drive (It creates a high pitch noise). Other then that, the consol
e is great! With a built in WiFi, there are less cables; You can access Netflix with this console and watch DVD, Blu-Ray and is even 3D ready (given your television permits).

Conclusion:
On top of my complaints in the test drive section, I need to remind you guys that even though this game comes with a bundle of 4 other games, these 4 games are not in a case. They come in a cardboard envelope.    Cheap build quality, horrible packaging makes it too obvious that this model was to appeal to the Black Friday fever. Is it worth it? If you can get it less then $199.99 then yes! it can serve not only as your console but also as your media player.

1.Google Nexus 7

The Google Nexus 7 is without a doubt the leader among the best alternatives to the iPad Mini. The Kindle Fire HD should therefore one of the simplest gadgets out there, thats still pretty good. In the tablet lies a 1.2 GHz dual core processor and 16GB or 32GB depending on the version store. Here, too, solves the display with 1280 × 800 pixels.

The Acer Iconia Tab A110 is very similar to the Google Nexus 7th In the 7 inch tablet from Acer puts the same NVIDIA Tegra 3 chip and here is Android 4.1 Jelly Bean preinstalled. Unlike the Nexus 7 There is also a microSD card slot and an HDMI output. Therefore the resolution of 1024 × 600 pixels is much lower - the price is the same for 199 euros.

4.Amazon Kindle Fire

Who wants a very simple tablet may be the slightly revised version of the first Kindle Fires access Amazon. Here, the same operating system as the Kindle Fire HD is installed, only the hardware is not quite as good. Instead of a dual-core chip is only a 1.2 GHz single-core processor fitted with 8GB memory and the display has only to 1024 × 600 pixels. For this, the Kindle Fire with 159 euros is also much cheaper.
